A dramatic reinvention of an existing estate in Beverly Hills, the Roxbury Residence pays homage to the gracious villas of rural Italy.
With the guidance of Evens Architects architecture and landscape studios, the original house has been comprehensively expanded and reconfigured to include all new kitchen, private family room, offices, bedroom suites, and an expansive new basement with theater and wine cellar. Especially important to our client's vision was a al fresco living and dining, and this is now accommodated in a spacious new loggia with fireplace. The residence is now surrounded with calming water features and a sequence of varied outdoor rooms. The new master plan incorporates numerous follies, punctuated by sculpture gardens and hidden surprises. Referencing traditional Japanese architecture, a Dojo has been provided as a practice venue for our client, a Jujutsu aficionado.
Our clients desire for simplicity and their interest in accommodating an expanding modern art collection, naturally led us toward a more modern take on the interiors, under the guidance of designer Natasha Baradaran. The renovation of Roxbury Drive reflects a unique fusion of the classic and the modern. Our client's new home is an oasis of tranquil livability.
