For much of my life, the romance of California has captivated me, with its strongest pull in Santa Barbara and Montecito, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Santa Ynez Mountains. Our Montecito project allowed me to honor this region’s beauty by blending traditional Santa Barbara sandstone into the architecture and landscape, creating a seamless connection between the home, its natural surroundings, and its rich history. Designed as a family retreat, the house balances simplicity and modernity, offering a serene, welcoming space where architecture, landscape, and a deep sense of place coexist harmoniously.
