Duan Tran, Principal
A native Ohioan, Duan Tran worked for several distinguished firms in both Ohio and Washington DC prior to joining KAA. Over his 14 years with the firm, Duan has overseen several high-profile custom residential projects for many notable clients. His projects have been have been featured in several national shelter publications, as well as recognized for design by the AIA.

Steve Straughan, Senior Associate
Steve approaches architectural design with passion, patience and inter-disciplinary rigor. As the firm’s Design Coordinator, his design expertise and 25-year history with the firm's custom residential projects make him uniquely suited for direct involvement in all of the firm’s work, overseeing design and construction documentation on a diverse portfolio of projects.

Barbara Alfors, Senior Associate
Over her 17-year tenure with KAA Design, Barbara has managed innumerable projects from large residential estates to modest beach homes. She finds working with a team of clients, architects, consultants, contractors and governing agencies while executing a custom home to be uniquely challenging and rewarding.

Lisa Lefevre, Associate
Now in her sixth year with the firm, Lisa joined KAA Design with over 15 years of experience as a CFO providing strategy, leadership and financial risk management. She oversees the firm’s operational and financial reporting and processes, provides long and short term financial planning and budgeting, develops the firm’s financial strategies, and provides risk management for all of the KAA Design’s entities.

Todd Paolillo, Associate
After residential architectural pursuits in Boston and the Northeast, Todd joined KAA in 2001 and his 13-year tenure has afforded him extensive experience with a wide range of projects and design teams. Todd is passionate about thoughtful, well-executed design, and in addition to project responsibilities, he oversees firm initiatives related to growth and staff development.
