Located in the desirable "tree section" of Manhattan Beach; the 31st Street Residence, nicknamed the "Tree House," has a unique façade comprised of two wood-sheathed volumes that hover above concrete walls. Honoring similar building traditions of the region, the home reinforces the viability of indoor/outdoor living along the Southern California coast. Locally sourced, sustainable materials are used throughout the home and whenever possible and relevant to the design concept, materials are left exposed to reveal their natural finishes.
